A beta tester found a bug in the logic that was addressed with today's release - so I thought I would post his issue here (no - he's not a forum member).

He already had a different version of SQL Server installed on the machine that he was installing iFig Reader to. The iFig Reader installation program detected his existing version of SQL Server and consequently did not install the free version (SQL Server Express) of SQL Server.

Later, when he tried to open the application, the software could not connect to his iFig Reader database. The bug was caused because the software was designed to use and connect to ONLY the free version of SQL Server.

The logic has since been modified to allow the user to specify the version of SQL Server they want iFig Reader to connect to. This information is persisted outside of the database in an XML configuration file.

Hope this clarifies the issue if you ran into it as well.

Jim
