Catalog Updates using FedLog

The iFig Reader application comes with a free utility for merging catalog data from FedLog with the iFig Reader internal catalog. With this utility, you can always be sure that iFig Reader's catalog data is kept up to date with the most recent Federal catalog data.

The utility performs 4 functions.

  1. It queries FedLog for catalog data (AMDF first, then FLIS if no AMDF info is available) for all RPSTL NIINs and stores the information in the iFig Reader database for later use.
  2. It queries FedLog for replacement NIINs for all RPSTL NIINs and stores the information in the iFig Reader database for later use.
  3. It queries FedLog to determine if a previously non-cataloged manufacturer's part number (located in the RPSTL) has been cataloged with a NIIN and if so, it stores the information in the iFig Reader database for later use.
  4. It queries FedLog to determine manufacturer information for all unique RPSTL CAGE codes and stores the information in the iFig Reader database for later use.

NOTE: iFig Reader does NOT ship with ANY catalog data. You must use your own FedLog disks to maintain iFig Reader's internal catalog. This process should be run every month when you receive your FedLog disks in order to maintain up to date catalog data.
