Docking and Pinning
The iFig Reader application features 3 sections called panes that can
be manipulated in a number of ways to suit your taste. The 3 panes are
highlighted below.

Any or all of these panes can assume any of the following postures.
- A pane can be Docked to the main iFig Reader screen.
In the figure above, the Action Pane and the Data Grid Panes are docked to the
main screen and are always displayed. The Navigation Pane is
Hidden.
- A pane can be Hidden. In this mode, a pane will fill its
normal amount of screen space ONLY when it has the focus. As soon as the pane
loses focus, the pane will slide out of the way such that only its title will
be displayed along the edge of the iFig Reader screen.
- A pane can be Floating. In this mode, a pane is visible but
is completely separated from the main iFig Reader application.
To change a panes posture, simply follow these steps.
- To Dock a pane to the main iFig Reader screen when the pane
is Floating, or to Float a pane that is
Docked, simply double-click on the title bar of the pane.

- To Dock a pane to the main iFig Reader screen when the pane
is Hidden, first
Hover your mouse over the pane's title bar. This will cause the pane to
temporarily slide into view.

After the pane slides into view, click the pin button located at the top
right of the pane's title bar.

- To Hide a pane that is Docked, click the pin
button located at the top right of the pane's title bar.
